On the gondola you can see a trainee and a school mentor because we were together to liaise, observe, reflect and plan where to go and why.
As school mentors we were really pleased to join something new and beneficial from our professional point of view as well as from the point of view of our teaching/learning environment.
We did our best to support, and encourage trainees to take an active part in English and Italian lessons. Trainees are now more familiar with the Italian educational system.
They are now more fluent and accurate in speaking Italian.
We collaborated with trainees in any way possible to benefit from shared support as well as to help trainees develop independence in planning, teaching and assessment.
Through mutual critical evaluation of teaching/learning, both school mentors and trainees improved their own effectiveness as teachers.
